India Day 1

Hi friends, it’s 10:00 PM local time. We just got back to the hotel from dinner – and we’re completely exhausted. The first day was packed with new experiences. And that after a night on the plane with about 1 hour of sleep and a 4:30 time difference in the wrong direction… Here’s the brief photo log: Hotel This is near our hotel. Typical: ultra-modern and ancient side by side. Bank Even in the bank, it’s like it was for us in the 1940s. Subway There is a subway – and it’s really well organized. Probably necessary for a city of 21 million… Saris Everywhere you see beautiful saris. Temple They have temples galore here. Donkey Right on the drive from the airport to the hotel, we saw an elephant on the street. Unfortunately, I wasn’t quick enough with the camera. But there are more animals in the street traffic… Taj Mahal in small This is the small model of the Taj Mahal – doesn’t seem small at all… Window …and it’s already very impressive. Arch They also have an Arc de Triomphe: They call it “India Gate.” Street food My colleague Christian bravely got “Indian Bread” on the street. As usual here, extremely spicy. Normally the rule is: If you can’t peel it and you can’t cook it – forget it! Temple Another temple: This one is right in the city… Old Delhi In Old Delhi, the streets are even narrower, fuller, and faster. Red dot And this is how you look after a day full of new impressions and temples. So, now I have to fall into bed. Good night, – Till.
